That's a Wrap: The Cape's Season Is Cut Short

The creators, cast and crew of The Cape received less-than-super news on Tuesday: NBC has cut the episode order for the freshman series from 13 to 10, Deadline reports. That means that production will shut down imminently, just as soon as Episode 10 is wrapped.

Ratings: Bachelor Flies High, Cape Hits Low

Trending downward following a decent-enough premiere, The Cape hit a series-low rating in the coveted 18-49 demo this past Monday.

One scheduling scenario, per Deadline, has The Cape concluding its run on February 28. The Event is then set to return and reclaim the Mondays-at-9 time slot starting March 7.

  • every time i like a show it gets cancelled..we need to get a better rating system than the Nielsen..i also liked to watch it with my son.. there’s not to many shows we watch together but this was one of them..i hope another station is smart enough to pick up the cape before the actors go somewhere else..i thought the choice of actors was great..o well lets see what happens..ez

  • That show was my favorite! I saw episode ten and was disappointed with the unhappy ending! I would love it if they looked back at what people did and didn’t like and make a second season.

  • the series might be poor but i really liked the story and would love to keep watching it. it’s a shame that they stopped the movie cuz it wasn’t successful like some other movies. They need to make season 2!! There are people who were watching this series!

  • AT least they need to make 1 last episode to give sense to the movie. If you are going to end something then make it a good ending! only 1 more episode will make difference! i need to know how it would have finished.

  • My whole family loved it and was disappointed to see that it was cancelled. I agree with some of the earlier posts…way to many shows are getting cancelled. The thing is that it sometimes takes 2 seasons to see if a series is ant good. I know when I watched Stargate the first season sucked and once the second season started they were starting to gain more money to put in the show and it went what….8-9 seasons and was wonderful. These companies just need to follow through with a commitment.

  • The Cape was enjoyable with an interesting cast and although the plot was sometimes confusing the series was produced to a high standard & like arrow engaged me as an adult i have limited knowledge of comics or there world so i did find the comicbook like cutsceens a little tiresome but i would imagine that comic book nerds would find this highley entertaining whoever cancelled this show should be fired as i would quite happily watch another season or two before i started losing interest. thank god for grimm, arrow and elementary as most american tv is getting very f’n stale
