Grey's Anatomy Scoop: Bailey Is Tweeting!

Get More: News

The doctor is in… the process of Tweeting, as Grey’s Anatomy fans can now see by following Miranda Bailey’s brand-new feed at Twitter.com/MirandaBaileyMD.

The fictional caregiver’s arrival on the tweeting scene effectively tees up the next new hour of Grey’s, airing February 3. Directed by cast member Kevin McKidd, the episode has Bailey showcasing the benefits of Twitter as a teaching tool. Alas, as Lexie helps her tweet live from the OR, Chief Weber comes down hard in opposition of the “social media” gizmo.

Communicating in the TV character’s own voice, Miranda started tweeting on Friday evening, and viewers can follow her messages simultaneously during Thursday’s episode. Will you be Following her?

  • Really? Bailey? Out of all the cast members, I’d think she’d be one of the least likely to realistically start tweeting. I’d see Arizona, Lexie or someone like that tweeting before Bailey…

      • The article said Bailey’s using Twitter as a teaching tool and if you look at her Twitter all of her tweets are about patients and their conditions.

  • This is very out of character for Bailey regardless if she’s using it as a teaching tool or not. You can’t teach medicine in 140 characters or less. I am very surprised Shonda Rhimes is doing this.

    • It is not out of character for Bailey. If you look back over the years she has been the geekiest geek of the crew. She is alway wanting to try out the newest tech (DiVinci Robot), she quotes sci fi (star wars), she is always ahead of the curve for pete’s sakes!

  • I don’t get this as a storyline. It seems gimicky. If they wanted Bailey to get all excited about discovering twitter, ok, I’ll buy that. But she’s tweeting during surgery? Plus they create a “Bailey account” on the real twitter so people can follow her during episodes? That’s a bit much.
