Super! Wonder Woman Pilot Lands At NBC

Your (Diana) Prince may come after all, comic-book fans.

David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman pilot has landed at NBC, just weeks after the high-profile project appeared to have stalled, Deadline reports.

Earlier this month, all the majors took a pass on the series, due to its being shopped around late in the game plus its presumably big-ticket price tag. But with the NBC-Comcast deal now done, the Peacock’s purse strings grew a bit looser.

Just last week, Kelley said that despite that brief hiccup, he and his team were “optimistic that we’re going to do it,” noting, “We’ve got a script that [Warner Bros. TV] and DC are very excited about.”

Kelley’s take on Wonder Woman presents Diana Prince as an L.A.-based “corporate executive and modern woman” also juggling her side job as a vigilante crimefighter, says Deadline. It wouldn’t be a Wonder Woman story without me asking you to speculate, in Comments, on which lovely lass should be cast as the golden lasso-wielder! Soap siren Nadia Bjorlin? Smallville‘s Erica Durance? My CWPF Charisma Carpenter?

Earlier this week, Kelley’s latest legal dramedy, Harry’s Law, premiered solidly for NBC.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. katie says:

i think erica durance would be good !!

  2. renara says:

    Erica Durance!
She’s got the body and she’s got the acting.
She would be the perfect wonder woman!

  3. Joe Kidd says:

I’d like to see Michele Boyd as Wonder Woman, with Lucy Lawless making cameos as her mom the Amazon Queen in between seasons of Spartacus.

  4. MK says:

Please anyone but Erica Durance!!!since Megan fox can’t act. I say Emanuelle Chriqui!!!

  5. Jodi says:

    I vote Erica Durance

  6. Scott says:

    Michelle Borth…

  7. Cory says:

If she wasn’t on V already I’d vote for Morena Baccarin!

  8. DC says:

Alexandra Daddario has the right look, but may not fit the DE Kelley mold.

  9. Jeffrey says:

  10. Rob J. says:

    Keri Russell, duh!

  11. Jeffrey says:

Charisma Carpenter or Alyssa Milano or Shannen Doherty

  12. Mike S says:

Charisma Carpenter could definitely pull it off. I would LIKE to see Erica Durance being too busy when her and Tom Welling are carried over to the next Superman movie, but if not, she’d be a good option, too.

  13. Renee says:

Not sure, but Charisma Carpenter is too old. During her Buffy/Angel prime yes, but not now.

  14. Kristina says:

Erica Durance would be really great!!!

  15. HN says:

It’s gotta be Erica Durance. She is the right age and look. She can kick ass convincingly. She can play just about any kind of character/emotion and pull it off with style. For me, it’s got to be her. Plus, she needs a job now that Smallville is ending and whatever role she gets, she deserves it to be a step up!

  16. Emmitwest says:

I’d suggest Elisa Dushku… if her mere presence didn’t guarantee a shows demise.

  17. tay says:

i’ve always thought mila kunis looked like wonderwoman

  18. elizabeth says:

    Bridget Regan, no contest.

  19. astral_monkey says:

    Sarah Lancaster.

  20. Margaret says:

Adrienne Palicki. Bridget Regan was an inspired pick too.

  22. jay says:

Wow…Bridget Regan is an excellent suggestion!! Erica Durance is another great choice.

  23. Rush says:

I’m sorry, too distracted by that picture to read the article. She’s about to fall out.

  24. Rush says:

How about Jennifer Love Hewitt? She’s free now that Ghost Whisperer is over and she’s got the boobs to carry the role.

  25. Marco says:

I think Carly Pope would make an incredible Wonder Woman. She can be both bad-ass and corporate. She’s got the depth that can take the role to interesting places.

  26. Rush says:

I’m sorry, BOOBS, was there an article there, BOOBS!

  27. PGP says:

Anyone but Nadia Bjorin(sp?)! Someone suggested her before. She is way too whiny on Days and I just don’t see her carrying a series. Love Eliza Dushku but she would be better as a villain. Sarah Michelle Gellar might be good as would Charisma Carpenter or Jennifer Love Hewitt. Still I feel they will hire an unknown for this. Budget might be better.

  28. rodg12 says:

    What about Minka Kelly?

  29. Dan says:

I always thought Missy Peregrim would make a great WW. But I think she’s on another show. So she’s probably out.

  30. Will says:

Jennifer Gardner would be awesome. She hasn’t done much in the movies lately, she already has TV cred and we know she can kick some serious butt in the fight scenes.
