Ratings: Winter Wipeout Looks Icy Hot

Get More: News, Ratings, Reality TV

ABC’s number-crunchers are having an ice day in the wake of Wipeout‘s winter edition opening strongly.

Averaging a series-high 11.6 million total viewers and a 3.7 rating, the grimace-inducing spectacle gave ABC its first demo win of the season against CBS’s Thursday comedy block, and bested $#*! My Dad Says‘ audience.

Elsewhere on the night:

* In the 8 o’clock hour, The Big Bang Theory was up seven percent in the demos (with a night-leading 4.4) and four percent in viewers (14 mil), while $#*! matched its last fresh outing.

* As usual, Grey’s Anatomy topped the demos at 9 pm, and CSI easily led in total viewers (14.2 million vs. 11.6 mil).

* The Mentalist was the night’s most watched program with 14.8 million total viewers, and edged out Private Practice (7.78 million viewers) in the demos.

Enough about cold, hard numbers, though — what did you watch on Thursday night?

  • Private Practice is one of the best shows on TV. I don’t get why it’s not higher up in the ratings. I think they are playing Charlotte and Cooper perfectly. Amelia is a riot. Her advice to Nai and Addison was spot on :)

    • Saying that Private Practice is one of the best shows on TV, is like saying getting a colonoscopy feels good.

      • PSA: Getting a colonoscopy doesn’t feel like anything. You’re out for it! Get one, it could save your life. Back to your regularly scheduled TV gossip.

  • Grey was amazing last nite with them dealing with senseless shooting & killing of innocent people which was reminiscent of what they went thru. They came full circle and were healed. Great episode. PP dealt with overbearing mother & Addison & Charlotte trying to heal from her rape. Really good also.
