HBO Sets Premiere Date For Game Of Thrones

Circle April 17 on your calendars. That’s the day HBO will premiere Game Of Thrones, the highly anticipated fantasy series based on George R.R. Martin’s literary phenom.

Other highlights from Friday’s Television Critics Association press tour sessions:

* Every panel should be as entertaining as HBO’s session for The Pee-Wee Herman Show on Broadway. Beamed in via satellite from New York, Paul Reubens answered reporters’ questions in character as Pee-wee. Asked for his opinion about WikiLeaks, he said, “They should just plug the thing if it’s leaking.”

* James Gandolfini watches Bravo. At the panel for HBO’s awesome looking original film Cinema Verité (which tells the behind-the-scenes story of the seminal ’70s reality series An American Family), Gandolfini not only confessed to having seen The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but added — somewhat tongue-in-cheek — that he thought it “was extraordinary.”

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!
