Scoop! Jason Lee Comedy Pilot Adds Vegas Beauty, Big Love and a Lost Vet

Molly Sims (Las Vegas) and Faizon Love (The Parent ‘Hood) will both figure into Shredd: The Jon Johnsenson Story, a comedy pilot Jason Lee co-wrote and will star in for Adult Swim.

Also joining the pilot’s cast are Malcolm David Kelley (aka Lost‘s Waaaaalt!) and Kevin Pollak (A Few Good Men), TVLine has learned exclusively.

Shredd tells the tale of a teenage skateboarding champ who lapses into a 25-year coma following an accident. When he awakens, Jon is played by Jason Lee (who in real life was once quite the pro skater himself).

Though now technically a grown-up, Jon still has the mind of a daring, skateboarding teen from the ’80s. As such, he experiences a bit of culture shock — especially when he sees that his BFF Nate has evolved from Malcolm David Kelley into Faizon Love, and that his high school sweetheart has blossomed into Molly Sims.

Lee is also set to direct the pilot.

I know what some of you are about to ask, and here’s the answer: If Shredd gets picked up as a series, Lee will juggle it with his work on TNT’s Memphis Beat, which airs its second season this summer, Deadline reported last month.

Awesome! This sounds super fun AND we still get MB. Double win!

  2. KaiSen says:

Not a fan of live-action on Adult Swim (still wish they’d develop more ANIMATED action/adventure series myself), but this one actually sounds more intelligent than the live-action fare currently on the block.

will this be a 15min show like everything else on Adult Swim or a 30 min show?
